Straumlind and Igloo Join Forces to Simplify Electricity for Renters
Straumlind and Igloo have partnered to allow tenants to choose Straumlind in a simple, seamless way. Renters can now select Straumlind for their electricity supply directly within Igloo's lease-signing process, securing the best available electricity rates at the same time.
Tenants who need to set up electricity can choose Straumlind with a single click, and Straumlind handles the rest, completing the transfer in cooperation with the relevant distribution utility.
Removing the friction
Until now, this process has often been a hassle for people in the middle of a move. The Igloo–Straumlind partnership removes that friction, making electricity a natural part of the digital move-in process.
"We want setting up electricity to be as easy as ordering a pizza on moving day. When people sign a lease on Igloo, they shouldn't have to wonder what comes next. There just needs to be power in the outlets," says Vignir Már Lýðsson, CEO of Igloo.

Straumlind emphasises transparency, simplicity, and meeting people where they are. Through this partnership, choosing an electricity provider becomes part of a process renters are already going through.

The integration is available to tenants signing leases through Igloo who need to register electricity in their name at the start of a tenancy, as well as those with an existing active Igloo agreement. More than 15,000 rental homes currently use Igloo, with over 75,000 registered users.
